Hebridean Adventures, based in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, offer short cruises lasting from 2 to 6 nights on their converted fishing boat, the MV Monadhliath, from April to October each season. The boat can sleep 8 or 9 guests and has 5 cabins (1 double/triple, 2 x double and 2 x single.) There are some big changes ahead for 2020 which include operating selected cruises from Mallaig and Ullapool on the mainland for the first time, as well as from their home port of Stornoway.

Perhaps the most exciting change however is to their cruise itineraries which are all completely new for 2020, along with the inclusion of some very special activity cruises in partnership with qualified experts in their field. More of those in a minute…

The Hebridean Adventures operation is best known currently for their guided wildlife cruises around the north Minch area, seeking out the very best views of some of Scotland’s most iconic species that this world-class cetacean and seabird hotspot offers. They are also the only cruise boat based in this location meaning no sailing time from ports further south is needed.

Depending on the time of year you can reasonably expect great chances at spotting minke whales, common dolphins, harbour porpoise, grey and harbour seals, white tailed and golden eagles, puffins, gannets and a myriad of other marine and coastal wildlife whilst on board and on shore. Other surprises can also be found sometimes such as otters, Risso’s dolphins and even orca on very special occasions. Shore excursions are also taken in quiet and remote locations when other wildlife can then be found also, even wild orchids in the late spring and summer in certain places!

New for 2020 is a great range of activity cruises to appeal to those who like to mix their wildlife watching and cruising with something more active. They are offering sea kayaking, snorkelling, hiking in remote locations and photography themed cruises, all in conjunction with acknowledged local experts.

Of course, a big attraction on all cruises is the chance to visit some of the most beautiful places in the world along the west coast of the Scottish Highlands, plus Hebridean islands such as Skye, Lewis, Harris, the Shiants and the Summer Isles and even the remote St Kilda.
