Get ready to be amazed by the bizarre designs that will feature in the 2016 version of the famous frozen structure the Icehotel, in Swedish Lapland.

The descriptions of the suites are most intriguing and include a Set of Cards and a White Cathedral. Others will include Lapland Waves, in which the bed appears to float on an ocean of waves of ice, and a room designed as a whirl of passionate thoughts!

Interestingly, 40 artists from around the globe will be involved in the creation of this amazing hotel. Believe it or not, 5,000 tons of ice was harvested from the Torne River at Jukkasjärvi to construct the Icehotel which features 55 rooms, a chapel, bar, hall and gallery.

Check out specialist tour operator Simply Sweden who are offering a new holiday getaway taking in both the Icehotel (or the permanent Icehotel 365) which opens for the first time on 1st November – and new wilderness cabins.
