The scenery is wild and beautiful with snow lasting for up to 200 days! Why not make 2016 an especial year and experience true Swedish style? It is worth checking out Taber Holidays who are offering a fantastic snowbound 4-nights wilderness retreat for families.

Based on an island in the Lulea archipelago, the New Year getaway departs on 29th December. Guests will stay at the attractive Brandön Lodge which has amazing views overlooking the frozen sea. Outdoor activities available will include dog sledding, snowshoeing and an aurora hunt by sled.  Alternatively, guests can join a Nordic winter skills session.

New Year's Eve starts with an exciting tour through frozen snow-clad forests with tea, coffee and lunch included. The evening's celebrations then begin with a delicious 4-courses meal at the lodge's restaurant before guests walk out onto the frozen lake to hunt for a bottle of champagne from a hole in the ice!  The finale will be an awesome firework display to welcome in 2016.

The next day a hearty breakfast will be provided for guests, before visiting a local husky ranch and setting off on an exhilarating dog sled tour. After dinner, there will be a fun tour by sled, in search of the magical Northern Lights. Guests will be wrapped up in cosy blankets and sit upon reindeer hides while the sled guides over the stunning frozen tundra, barely making a noise, pulled by snowmobile.
