One of Spain’s largest food festivals will welcome a huge gathering of over 100,000 visitors to Trujillo, south west Spain during the annual National Cheese Festival. This great event takes place from 28th April to 1st May 2017.
Visitors can browse around Trujillo’s main square and sample stallholders offerings of over 300 different Spanish cheeses from Manchego to Ibores, La Serena and the local speciality, Torta del Casar.
It is worth visiting one of the six restaurants in the square who will be offering mouth-watering dishes using cheeses from the local region and other local delicacies, including Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, one of Spain's finest hams and dishes using the famous Pimentón de la Vera (paprika).
If you are looking for tastefully presented accommodation, then look no further than Trujillo Villas España who will also be running an especial tour of the festival with a local cheese expert providing top tips.
