There is a perfect view of the town, with its famous Abbey, from the hotel grounds, with unrivaled views of the stunning Gloucestershire countryside in the other direction. The hotel offers an 18-hole golf course The Deerpark, which has featured twice as one of the top 100 courses in the UK and Ireland.
Our suite was perfect in every way. An oversized Hypnos bed afforded us with an excellent night’s sleep. The large bathroom featured a marvellous roll top bath, and a wonderful power shower, along with luxury toiletries. The state-of-the-art Samsung TV provided us with a range of entertainment options, and the fantastic views of the Malvern Hills from our window completed the experience for us. Luxury furnishings, a walk-in dressing area, and a comfy sofa were also welcome.
The hotel is independently owned, and prides itself on being able to serve its guests locally sourced, delicious home-cooked food. We found it hard to choose from the dinner menu, as everything sounded so good! Eventually, we settled on the Gloucester Old Spot pork fillet, and the Malabari seabass fish curry, we were not disappointed! Both dishes were expertly cooked, and so flavoursome. We also managed to save a little room for dessert, enjoying the 70% dark chocolate crémeux, a most enjoyable experience! Breakfast the next morning was another delicious affair. A full cooked buffet breakfast was available, and we were spoilt for choice, between that, or choosing from the extensive range of fruits, cereals, yoghurt, cheese, pastries, and smoothies. Of course, in the end we had a little of everything.
The hotel offers a range of beauty treatments and I enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing aromatherapy massage, one of the best I have had. We also took advantage of the spa facilities, enjoying the sauna and steam rooms. We left after our short stay feeling refreshed, replenished and pampered. A truly enjoyable experience at this special hotel.
