For the 'rocker' dad…Guitar heaven at the Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife

Whether it's the opening riff of Status Quo's 'Rockin' All Over the World' or the thunderous chords of The Who's 'Baba O'Riley', everyone's been guilty of a little air-guitar 'dad' playing at some point. This father's day you could treat your dad to the rock star experience with a stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife. The five-star hotel located in the south of Tenerife is the perfect place to live those dreams (minus throwing TV's out the window) with guests able to order Fender guitars and amps direct to their bedroom during their stay, all included in the room price.

Guests can also turn their suite into a nightclub by asking the concierge to deliver a 'Traktor DJ controller' and laptop that connects to the built-in sound system in the rooms, allowing you to mix your own tunes and turn the volume up to eleven. Daily personalised playlists are also available to listen to and access after your trip so you can relive the memories.

Seven nights B&B at the Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife is available from £700pp, based on two adults sharing a Deluxe Gold Twin Room, departing on 18 June from London Stansted.

For the 'outdoor' dad…Watersports on the coast of Fuerteventura

Embrace adventure this father's day with a visit to the Canary Island of Fuerteventura, with its crystal clear waters and coastal winds creating the ideal conditions for an adventerous watersports break filled with kitesurfing and surfing.

The Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real is a good base for a week of watersports, with its location right on the beach and at the edge of the Corralejo Nature Reserve. Guests can book a number of activities through the hotel such as sailing, diving, deep sea fishing, surfing and kitesurfing, all with trained instructors and guides. The island is also home to spectacular walking routes that cross diverse lanscapes, including coastal trails, desert dunes and volcanic mountains.

Guests can relax afterwards in one of the hotel's two pools, or indulge in on of the largest hotel spas in Europe, the Spa Bahia Vital, which offer a wide selection of therapies and treatments, as well as a heated pool, hydro jets, steam bath, sauna, sanarium and Jacuzzis.

Seven B&B at the Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real in a twin sea view room is available from £945pp – including flights from London Luton (based on 17 June departure)

For the 'young at heart' dad…Coasteering in Guernsey

Nothing screams parental responsibility like jumping off a cliff and this father's day could be spent trying out the unique watersport of coasteering in Guernsey, which transforms the coastline into a playground. Coasteering involves a variety of activities including open water swimming, exploring gullies and caves, and jumping in to the sea from the shore.

All under the supervision of expert and highly-experience instructors, there are a variety of routes available along Guernsey's picturesque coastline, as well neighbouring Sark where travellers could explore the beautiful Gouliot Caves, depending on the tide timings.

Two hour coasteering tours in Guernsey are available from £37.50 per adult with Outdoor Guernsey.

For the 'camping' dad…Safari tents & vintage caravans in the Costa Daurada

Some might recall family camping trips of the past with little glee, but now you can show your father that camping needn't involve leaking tent roofs and stove-cooked baked beans. The Costa Daurada in Catalonia has a range of campsites with accommodation varying from traditional pitch sites to glamping and modern bungalow plots.

In April, Camping & Resort Sangulí Salou unveiled its new 'Africa' resort, which includes African-themed safari tents and lodges, all equipped with furnished terraces, perfect for those looking for a unique place to stay. Miramar Camping offers 12 vintage caravans for guests to stay at, each decorated in its own unique colour and retro style, and including a double bed and outdoor area with BBQ.

The majority of Costa Daurada's campsites are located right on the beachfront and include an array of kids clubs, outdoor activities and watersports to keep the whole family entertained. You'll also be able to enjoy delicious fresh seafood dishes at the many restaurants along the coast of Cambrils and Salou.

Safari Tents at the Camping & Resort Sangulí are available from €115 per night in June.

For the 'golfing' dad…Balearic Islands

Mallorca in the Balearic Islands is home to several golf courses, ideal for those who would like to continue their family sporting rivalries with the advantage of wonderful weather and splendid scenery. One of the most respected courses is the 'T Poniente Golf Club', near Sant Ponsa, which has 18 holes running through beautiful rolling hills. For those who would like to test themselves, the Pula Golf Club, situated in the north east of Mallorca, is used on the European Tour.

The Alcanda Golf Club offers a challenging course to players, but also incredible views of the coastline and Tramuntana mountain range, perfect for the post-game trip to the bar.
