Talent galore at Mouth of the Tyne Festival
Music lovers can enjoy evening performances headed up by Bryan Ferry and Will Young. The venue for the event is the magnificent Tynemouth Priory and Castle, in North East England.
You cannot help but admire North East born Bryan Ferry, CBE, who has been so influential with his music and style. As a solo artist and Roxy Music front man, he achieved number one albums and top ten singles with hits including Love is the Drug, Tokyo Joe, Dance Away, Slave to Love and Let’s Stick Together. He will perform on 7th July.
The following evening on 8th July, multi-million selling singer-songwriter Will Young will perform. The set will include his catalogue of hits along with tracks from his new number one album ‘85% Proof’.
The festival celebrates music and performing arts across Tynemouth Priory and Castle, Playhouse Whitley Bay, Tynemouth Front Street and Tynemouth Station. Last year’s event attracted a huge 90,000 visitors and over 10,000 music lovers watched the outdoor Priory concerts.
It is good to see that as well as world-famous bands there will be a FREE jazz stage at the festival. The stage will be vibrantly colourful and the setting for a fantastic array of street performers, parades and a fun children’s pageant.
Do not worry; younger children will have plenty to do with storytelling, music and craft activities available during the festival. For hungry visitors there will also be a great selection of food stalls offering delicious locally-sourced produce to satisfy all tastes.
