Creativity flows at Southbank Centre's children's festival from 9th to 22nd February
Enjoy two jam-packed weeks of the best children’s theatre, literature and music, with plenty of workshops and free fun for everyone!
Visitors can watch the much-loved Charlie and Lola characters starring in a humourous play brought to life by a fabulous mix of puppets, live action and music (on 16th to 20th February). There is a also a fantastic selection of theatre and performances, including The Princess and the Pea, the children's musical, Brundibár, the dance show Quartet for 15 Chairs and Lost and Found's Pirate School.
Many activities at the event are free of charge and include art projects, gigs, singing workshops and playing music together. Children may also try many new activities including drawing, writing, reading, playing, singing and dancing.
This year the Festival is celebrating the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland. Children will be encouraged to dress-up, sing loudly and fall down a rabbit hole to experience Alice’s surreal world! There is also an opportunity to play Flamingo Croquet free of charge.
Join the lively Russell Brand for an exclusive reading of his children's book, The Pied Piper of Hamelin, with amazing live illustration from Chris Riddell (on 20th February). Meet the anarchic rats, the arrogant townspeople, sharp-eyed Sam and of course the Pied Piper himself.
