The highly successful Stratford-upon-Avon River Festival will once again bring the waterways of Stratford alive, with boatloads of family fun, on the first weekend of July 2014. Since it was established our River Festival has grown to become one of the region’s leading free festivals and last year was a record breaking year bringing nearly 50,000 revellers into our beautiful town.

For two whole days over July 5th and 6th the riverside comes alive and this year’s event features more free events and activities than ever before, whilst also welcoming back a host of old favourites by popular demand. Based on and around Stratford’s Recreation Ground, both days are expected to feature a full programme of events and activities. You’ll find there’s something for everyone, from live music to a range of interesting stalls, market traders and delicious food and drink outlets.
The whole family can enjoy an array of tantalising stalls from our craft market which boasts everything from handmade jewellery to artwork. We have lots of activities for children to enjoy such as face painting and craft. We even have our popular swing boat rides which are a firm favourite each year.

Local bands will be playing throughout the day and during the Saturday evening the Festival still has lots to offer with a fantastic firework display. The whole family can enjoy a vast array of food, drink, sweets and treats throughout the weekend whilst enjoying the beautiful backdrop of the River Avon. The Stratford River Festival will also give boaters the opportunity to make a visit to Stratford – and the River Avon - a key part of a summer’s cruising itinerary.

Whilst you’re at the River Festival why not pick up one of our around town Treasure Trail competition forms, then wander into the town to visit our fantastic shops, cafes, restaurants and show your support for the local businesses.
