Culture comes alive at Glasgow's West End Festival - 3rd to 26th June 2014
There is an amazing variety of events planned; it is just a matter of picking which ones are for you! Check out the fabulous music, theatre, energetic dance performances and guided walks on offer.
As part of the festival celebrations a Mardi Gras Parade is taking place on Sunday 8th June. With over 500 participants joining in the event, dressing up in vibrant, colourful costumes, the mood is sure to be electric! Singing and dancing performances will keep the crowds entertained in the streets for the duration of the afternoon.
Naturally, there will be the usual mouth-watering street food and licensed bars to sustain you along the parade route. It is also worth browsing the 60 craft and specialist stalls located around the streets as there will be plenty of interesting items to purchase.
Timings: event opens 12 noon and parade departs at 3pm, finishing at 4.15pm.
Route of parade:
Commences at: Botanic Gardens Byres Road (north) -> Byres Rd (south) -> Dumbarton Rd -> ending at Kelvingrove Art Galleries
