Celebrations at Oxford's Christmas Light Festival on Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th November
This vibrant Festival is celebrating arts, culture and Christmas with over 35,000 people attending. The event is celebrating 100 years of Oxford's cultural and industrial heritage, plus marks the 50th anniversary of C S Lewis' death.
On 22nd November from 4pm there is a fantastic themed lantern parade to light up the streets, ending in St Giles. The excitement will be intense for the 500 local children showing off their own handmade lanterns. Take time out to listen to the very best of Oxford’s live musical talent which is performing on stage at St Giles until 10pm.
It is worth taking a peek at the Christmas market in St Giles which is offering festive food and drink to purchase, along with plenty of attractive gifts to solve last minute shopping worries.
The celebrations are continuing on Saturday 23rd from 4pm, with an exciting evening of music and dance events. The Christmas Light Festival will come to a memorable close on Sunday 24th with a fabulous Day of Song where you can hear the amazing tones of the live choral performances from various local and international choirs.
