Join like-minded souls and enjoy this FREE Brazil Day event on Saturday 10th September from 12 noon to 7pm, in Trafalgar Square. This fabulous country is renowned for its wonderful culture, passion and cool vibe. All of these will be in abundance at this exciting Olympic event.
Bringing together athletes from more than 200 nations in a celebration of sport, this is the first time the Olympic and Paralympics Games have been held in South America warranting a proper UK celebration.
Brazil Day 2016 offers a great opportunity to celebrate the Rio Games and enjoy Brazilian music, DJs, sport, and more.
The music will reflect the cultural diversity of Brazil – from alluring bossa nova to the powerful beat of samba creating a street-carnival atmosphere in Trafalgar Square. There will also be a sporting dimension, with interactive games, and highlights of Rio 2016 shown on a huge screen.
Even better, visitors can sample traditional Brazilian flavours with food stalls selling mouth-watering street food and refreshments. Visitors should seek out the churrasco barbecue, Amazonian superfood açaí, pão de queijo (cheesebread), and many other Brazilian treats.
Brazil Day 2016 is being organised by the Embassy of Brazil in London in partnership with Brazil's Ministry of Sport and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX). The event is supported by the Mayor of London.
The Rio Olympic Games will end on 21st August and the Paralympics takes place from 7th to 18th September.
