It is a must-do event in the theatre calendar with the most talented and newest contemporary visual theatre, including cutting edge circus-theatre, live animation and puppetry, mask, physical and visual theatre.

An incredible 112 performances of productions are taking place at numerous venues in the UK, or London premieres, at the Barbican, Central Saint Martin’s Platform Theatre, Jacksons Lane, Shaw Theatre, Soho Theatre, Southbank Centre and The Peacock. It is great news that the Tate Modern is joining the party this year too. 

Watch amazing artists from Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, New Zealand, Spain and Sweden who will be working with some of Britain’s top talents, as well as established performers. There will be no room for disappointment!

The London International Mime Festival 2016 opens with Marcel. With Complicité members Jos Houben and Marcello Magni performing, a touching and yet, funny exploration of how to get round ageing unfolds.  These two distinguished performers go back in time to their early days with Complicité and celebrate the art of physical comedy and the fun of the ‘gag’. The performance will lift audience’s spirits ready to celebrate the remaining festival.

The MARCEL (UK Premiere) Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, Paris (France) is taking place at the Shaw Theatre in London NW1 2AJ.

Date: 9th to 12th January (Saturday, Monday and Tuesday 7.30pm; Sunday 3pm)

There will be an interesting after-show discussion on 11th January. The show runs for 60 minutes and there will be no interval on this occasion.
