Behind its Georgian Grade 2 listed, 18th Century façade lies an unique boutique hotel, designed to incorporate state-ofthe-art technology in each of its stylish bedrooms. The Eccleston Square Hotel is located a convenient two minutes from the Victoria transport hub, while nestling quietly in Belgravia, renowned for its mansions, elegant squares and private gardens.

After the friendly checking-in procedure, we were guided to our room, via a lift that included several TV screens showing news-feeds from around the world. We were given a demonstration of all the high-tech features, included within each of the hotel’s 39 rooms. They include electrically adjustable Hasten’s massage beds, a 46-inch 3D LED television, high-pressure rainfall shower and even an iPad, from which guests can order room service, browse the Internet or plan an evening on the town. Our King Prestige room also included a balcony overlooking the secluded gardens of Eccleston Square.

The curtains and lighting are all controlled by a single switch at the side of the bed, located next to an iPod docking station. A Nespresso machine provides complimentary coffee, at the flick of a switch, and further refreshments are available from the modestly priced mini-bar.

Following a restful sleep in the extremely comfortable bed, we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast in the hotel restaurant. It featured a continental breakfast buffet, including a wide choice of cereals, fruit, meat, cheese and pastries, as well as a full complement of cooked dishes, from a traditional Full English breakfast to a delicious Eggs Benedict. For a special celebration or a romantic overnighter, perhaps taking in a West End show, Eccleston Square offers the ideal spot.
