It can be tricky finding a family experience to suit all ages in the family, for sure! Drusillas Park is home to an animal zoo which is considered the best in Europe and we soon discovered why. The exotic and endangered creatures collection was fantastic and my animal-mad 9 year old found it enthralling.

Families can see Fennec Foxes, Binturongs, Servals, Linne’s Two-Toed Sloths, Goeldi’s Monkeys, Rainbow Lorikeets, Humboldt Penguins, Meerkats and Red Monkeys, to name just a few! Children can learn loads of animal facts which are truly fascinating.

Drusillas ticked lots of boxes with activities for younger children too. My 6 year old daughter fell in love with the Hello Kitty Secret Garden, just one of three theme park rides. Younger children can enjoy a train ride on Thomas the Tank Engine which takes you on a tour around the park and the surroundings are very pretty.

Forget rainy day worries as there is an indoor soft play area to keep children active. It was good to see two separate outdoor play areas for under 6’s and under 12’s too.

We also noticed the happy vibe amongst the staff, no grumpy faces and they genuinely like helping families enjoy their time together. There is no room for disappointment at the Park and it is a world away from mad theme parks with horribly long queues. If you are seeking a fun family day out with no hassle, then Drusillas Park is most definitely worth a visit and the ticket prices are reasonable.

Do take a peek at the Winter Wonderland events taking place during December 2015. The illuminations are awesome and real life reindeers will delight young visitors.  Even better is the daily light show, synchronised to music which brings to life the magical creatures in this sparkling make-believe land.

Please check Drusillas website for entry prices.

It is worth checking out the online ‘Prize Squeezer’ for the cheapest ticket deals.
