In April 2020, Casa de Campo Resort and Villas in the Dominican Republic is offering a seven night holiday that includes the four night retreat. The event is designed to bring people and horses together along with an Equine Gestalt Coach, in an environment designed to promote wellness, self-discovery and healing.

This therapy type is becoming increasingly popular in the UK and worldwide with Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and singer Selina Gomez among those who have sought equine assistance as part of a wider therapy programme. They are not alone, with the Global Wellness Institute projecting that wellness tourism will reach $919 billion by 2022, highlighting a key trend to combine a holiday with wellness activities.

Devon Combs has partnered with the resort to offer a retreat for up to 12 women, from 13-17 April 2020. Her aim for the retreat is to help women find clarity and purpose through the healing power of horses.

She commented, “I've experienced the healing power of horses first-hand. Now I bring women and horses together in a safe space where I teach people how to let go of self-sabotage and pick up the reins of their lives. The Unbridled Retreat is for women who want to get unstuck, gain clarity, and reconnect with themselves. I specialise in helping them get clear on where they're headed, and find the courage to move forward in their lives, while bonding with a supportive group of like-minded women.”

Devon continues “I'm excited to offer the Unbridled Retreat at Casa de Campo. Their beautiful equestrian centre is the perfect setting - the magic of this 7,000-acre resort and the healing power of horses will provide profound breakthroughs for women seeking positive change.”

While on-site, participants will be able to enjoy all the facilities at the 7,000 acre resort – they can relax on the sandy beach, go paddle-boarding, take a boat trip to a deserted island, kayak down the river, have a pottery lesson or relax in the spa.

Also on offer are a 370-slip Marina & Yacht Club, three championship golf courses and tennis centre with 13 courts.

Dripping in Hollywood legacy and Hamptons luxury, Casa de Campo and its mansion villa homes have attracted A-list celebrities, politicians and royals for decades, recently including Jay-Z and Beyonce, the Kardashians, Taron Egerton, Richard Branson, Michael Jordan, Drake, Alycia Keys, Bill Clinton and many more.

The five-star resort features 247 impressive rooms and suites in addition to numerous villas with private pools. All hotel and villa guests are provided with complimentary golf carts to explore the lush tropical grounds.

A seven night holiday including return British Airways flights from London Gatwick on 12 April, private transfers and seven nights on All Inclusive basis in a Superior Casita room costs from £5,175 per person (based on 2 sharing).  The price includes three days of equine encounters, unlimited horseback rides and English or Western style riding lesson.

To book call Exsus Travel on tel: 01603 937743.

No previous experience of horses is necessary and all riders are welcome, including beginners.
