Our wonderful monarch, Britain’s longest reigning Queen, turns 90 years old on the 21st April. Without doubt she certainly does not look her age and is much-loved by many.

Royal Windsor is planning a flagship celebration HMQ90 from 12th to 15th May. The theatrical insight into the Queen's life, her adoration of horses, her passion for the Commonwealth, and her commitment to the Armed Services will be inspirational for visitors.

Festivities in Windsor town are also planned and a great excuse to book a getaway and visit some of the best royal places. Many of the events will give a wonderful insight into the Queen’s lifetime.

Costumes galore

Fashion fans will find Fashioning for a Reign: 90 years of style from The Queen's Wardrobe exhibition amazing. The event runs from September 2016 to January 2017.

Visitors can enjoy viewing an especial exhibition at Windsor Castle, Berkshire, of spectacular evening gowns and elegant day ensembles worn at official events by the Queen. Also on display will be fancy-dress costumes worn by the young Princess Elizabeth for wartime family pantomimes at the Castle. It will be a wonderful event.

Where to stay?

Stay at the MacDonald Windsor Hotel in the heart of the historic town opposite Windsor Castle. This will be an ideal location to watch the changing of the guards who parade directly in front of the hotel.
