Experience the Northern Lights

A serious bucket list contender for any passionate winter sports enthusiast is the 10 night Åre and the Arctic adventure. Taking you deep within the Arctic Circle, this trip combines amazing skiing with one of the most captivating locations to experience the Northern Lights. The action gets started in the resort of Åre, a cool and quirky resort dubbed ‘Stockholm’s hip suburb’, despite being almost 400 miles northeast of the Swedish capital.

With 100km of slopes to explore there are some wonderful tree-lined runs with equally amazing views of the frozen lake below. Off the slopes there are no boundaries to what you can do, from the usual ice-skating, tobogganing and sleigh rides, to the more unusual ice-fishing, zip-lining and ice-driving to the most unusual of all - moose kissing! If there is an activity to be done on snow and with snow then you can do it in Åre. An overnight sleeper train takes you further on your journey to Riksgränsen, located 200km north of the Arctic Circle and the world's northernmost ski destination. The season does not really start here until March when the days are longer and the temperatures are kinder.  The snow is phenomenal and with immense heli-skiing terrain a helicopter and guide is the best way to get the most out of Riksgränsen’s amazing mountains. The final adventure stop is a night at the original Swedish ICEHOTEL, where there are several experiences on offer from learning ice sculpting and ice carving, to snowmobiling, or reindeer sledding.
