Be dazzled by this Hindu celebration, featuring a stunning parade of colourful lanterns, costumes and Indian crafts made by the local community to celebrate Diwali.

Woking town centre will be lit up with a stunning parade of colourful lanterns, costumes and Indian crafts made by the local community to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights on Friday 8th November.

This free event commences at 6pm from Gloucester Square (outside the Civic Offices), before making its way through the town centre, finishing at the H.G. Wells Conference and Events Centre.

This lively, colourful event is the most popular of all the festivals from South Asia and is celebrated by Jains, Sikhs and Hindus. Leading the parade will be traditional Bhangra performers and local schools and community groups.

Following the Diwali parade everyone is invited to continue their celebrations at a Diwali-inspired after party in the H.G. Wells Conference and Events Centre, where traditional southern Indian food will be available to buy at a small fee.
