The Devil’s in the Detail, a new exhibition at the Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron near Ironbridge, Shropshire will celebrate the steady hand and eagle eye of the Victorian trade catalogue engraver. It will feature large scale prints and audio description to help make the exhibition accessible to visitors who are blind or partially sighted. From the late medieval period up the 20th century, images were painstakingly engraved and then reproduced on the printing press.  Even after photography was invented the engraver’s skill remained in demand, yet seldom gained public recognition, which this exhibition aims to redress. Open 10am-5pm Enginuity is one of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums. An Annual Passport Ticket allowing entry into all ten museums, valid for 12 months and unlimited return visits, costs £24 adults, £19 seniors, £15.25 children 5-18 and £65 for a family, under 5s free; for details call 01952 433424, www.ironbridge.org.uk
