Just imagine.... indulging in a ‘half’ of malt whisky, eating delicious food and listening to music, in a beautiful setting, with like-minded souls.  If this is your idea of a heavenly event, then take time to visit the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival in North East Scotland (2nd to 6th May). You can take advantage of the opportunity to visit local distilleries, such as Benromach, Speyside’s smallest producer on the famous Whisky Trail. You can learn all about the history of Scotland’s national spirit, with tours aplenty, samplings at every juncture and even whisky artworks to contemplate. However, there are local bars, pubs and entire villages that will be welcoming you with their specialities. Gaelic and Highland folk music, dancing and spectacular menus are all available and the friendly folks of Speyside are also putting their reputes on the line to guarantee a memorable festival.

Do note that the festival encourages responsible drinking by offering a bus ticket priced at just £25, which allows unlimited travel over the five days, to and from each of the events. Check out the website for more information and the myriad competitions in which you can participate.
