Festival No.6, the uniquely appealing, predominantly music and arts celebration that takes place at the wondrous Portmeirion, on the North Wales coast, has persuaded Welsh rock trio, Manic Street Preachers, to end a self-imposed two-years exile by headlining one of the nights at this September’s event, a UK festival exclusive.

The band has an existing connection with Clough Williams-Ellis’ iconic cluster of Italianate follies, as they feature on the cover of its fifth studio album, ‘This Is My Truth, Tell Me Yours’. As the appearance coincides with the 15th anniversary of the album’s release, the Manics took very little convincing to attend. It will be an astonishing homecoming gig.

A great selection of live acts has already been confirmed for 2013 and they will be supported by some stellar DJs. Arts and culture is central to Festival No.6 (named after the quirky ITV ‘The Prisoner’ series of the late-1960s that featured Patrick McGoohan) and this year’s line-up is even stronger than its inaugural call-list from last autumn. Other highlights include talks and readings.
