Upon arrival, we were slightly taken back to see its exact location is within a business park. However, this soon became clear why, as the spa was specifically built there in order to be next to the site of a borehole that’s used to extract pure Malvern water. This special water is used in their pools and taps, and even incorporated in their signature spa treatment.

After a friendly welcome at reception, we were taken to our room – a moderately sized place that featured an Italian modern style interior. A cosy, comfortable bed and swish bathroom instantly made us feel at home.

A quick changed into our fluffy robes and we were ready to hit the spa for a day of relaxing. As mentioned before, Malvern’s famous spring water is frequently used here. A 20m indoor/outdoor pool compete with bubble massage stations and gentle hydrotherapy beds are all enriched with this water. Other ways to unwind include the salt grotto, crystal steam room and herb sauna.

Luckily, there was a mini heatwave the weekend we visited, so the outdoor pool was a must! There were plenty of sunbeds to lounge around on, as well as super comfortable giant green cushions.

Of course, the spa also offers a wide variety of treatments, and we sampled an indulgent back and shoulder massage. Using delicious smelling Espa oils, the lovely therapist worked her magic on our back and shoulders, expertly easing out any knots. The dimmed lights and gentle music really added to the atmosphere of the massage – it was so calming that we almost fell asleep!

We also experienced a ten minute head massage with Moroccan Oil – a great product for dry and damaged tresses. This amazing smelling oil was eased delicately in to our scalp and hair, helping to repair any broken strands. And it certainly did the job, as when we dried out locks later that night, we couldn’t help noticing how soft and glossy they were.

Later on, we enjoyed a scrumptious meal at the hotel’s restaurant, sampling the likes of sea bass, scallops and apple pie. And they didn’t disappoint come the morning either, with an array of cooked breakfasts on the menu to choose from, as well as fresh fruit, bread, pastries and cereal to help yourself to.

Feeling well fed, rejuvenated and extremely relaxed, it is very hard to leave the wonders of The Malvern. We’re still dreaming of that heavenly massage and booking our next visit, pronto.
