It is a superb area for skiing with five stylish ski villages offering luxury accommodation. If you are looking for a less crowded type of skiing experience with loads of slopes to explore, then Alpe d’Huez is for you.

The good news is that an improved route is now available to take visitors to their holiday destination, following the introduction of a new Eurostar route, direct from London to Lyon, that takes just 4hrs 41mins.

One of the ski villages in Alpe d’Huez, Auris en Oisans has received a complete makeover. A brand new accommodation complex has been built, a re-profiled beginners' area, more snowmaking facilities and new beginner’s lifts to make accessing the slopes even easier for less confident skiers.  It is good know that the village offers an excellent value alternative to most resorts found in other big French ski areas.

Also new for winter 2015-16 are beginner-specific lift passes which are available in the villages of Alpe d'Huez, Villard Reculas and Auris en Oisans.  Providing great value for money the passes allow access to a range of progressive slopes for a much smaller price.  Experienced skiers will be delighted to hear that the development of the exhilarating Sarenne black ski run is now complete.

Another brand new accommodation complex - Les Balcons d'Auréa – is opening to its first guests in Auris en Oisans this winter. It provides luxury accommodation for guests and includes 98 apartments ranging from studios to 4 bedroom-suites.  The complex is located just 100m from the resort centre, Tourist Office, ski school meeting point and lifts. There is no doubt that this ‘ski-in ski-out', self-catered residence, offers excellent value.
