Sitting on the Metro in Delhi, I was at a loss
to understand the interest I appeared to have
created among my fellow passengers. It was
only when my wife, Linda, whispered in my
ear that I was wearing two different shoes –
donned in haste as we rushed out of our
hotel – that I realised why so many of the other
passengers were giggling.
Embarrassingly laughing it off as “a new trend in
London”, I headed up into the Indian evening for a bite
